How does an STD consultation work?

Once you begin an STD consultation, you'll answer a few questions about your situation. If you know you've been exposed to Trichomoniasis, Chlamydia, or Gonorrhea, your clinician will prescribe treatment if they determine it's appropriate. If you aren't sure about your exposure status or diagnosis, our clinicians will provide you with a lab slip to test for Trichomoniasis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. You will need to visit an in-person lab location, like Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp, to complete testing (Note: lab fees are charged separately from Wisp and can be expensive if you don't have insurance—unfortunately, Wisp doesn't have any control over these costs). If safe and appropriate, your clinician will prescribe immediate treatment to relieve STD symptoms while you wait on results. If you've already tested positive before beginning your consult, you can provide those results to your clinician by sending a message from your Patient Dashboard.
