What should I take for UTI pain relief?

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Motrin) are both effective for relieving UTI pain until you can get treatment. Pyridium, is a highly effective pain reliever that specifically targets urinary pain and discomfort. You can request Pyridium from your clinician after checkout.

Pain relievers are not a substitute for UTI treatment, however. The infection can continue to spread while you take pain medication, and you may not know how far it's progressed until you've developed a serious kidney infection. It's a good idea to only take a pain reliever until you get your antibiotics and then go off pain medication so you can monitor your symptoms and make sure the infection is gone for good.
