Do I have to be a certain age for menopause treatment?

At Wisp we provide hormone treatment to those 40 years of age and older, or those younger than 40 who have had a hysterectomy and ovary removal (ovary removal is not necessary to receive Estriol Face Cream or Vaginal Estrogen). We prescribe Estriol Face Cream to those 35 years of age and older.

On average, women experience menopause at 51 years old, and perimenopause symptoms can begin 7-10 years prior. Patients are encouraged to start Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) as soon as they begin to experience uncomfortable symptoms.
