Is Mgen a new STD?

No, Mgen isn’t new, but it is “younger” than many other sexually transmitted infections. Researchers first identified it in 1981. However, it isn’t surprising if you’ve never heard of it before—Mgen was previously difficult to diagnose due to lack of testing technology for it. Now that testing has been developed, researchers now believe Mgen may be more common in the US than they once thought.
