What is Slynd?

Slynd is an oral contraceptive that does not contain any estrogen, and has the hormone drospirenone, which is a progestin. While there are other progestin-only options out there, Slynd provides the unique benefit of following a dosing schedule that is the same as that of many combination birth control pills: 24 active hormone pills and 4 inactive placebo pills. This schedule also allows for a 24-hour missed pill window—much more flexible than other progestin-only pills that only allow for a 2-3 hour missed pill window.
